Ryanair, a low cost airline company at the expense of...

Over the past weeks the Irish airline company Ryanair was always in the news as a result of various incidents suffered by their by their aircraft in Spain.

With growing concern, during the last couple of weeks Ryanair doesn´t stop being on the cover news as a result of the serious incidents that their aircrafts are suffering. . However, it continues being the most commonly used low cost airline company by passengers.

However, many wonder how it is possible that nowadays, where fuel prices keeps increasing, as well as the airport taxes, and more news relating to the decline in number of passengers at the airports, under these circumstances, how keeps Ryanair low cost prices?

New line of business.
As well as Ryanair and other airline companies are expanding their businesses in other sectors closely related to the sale of it airline tickets service.

Now, when you make a flight booking to Valencia for example, its reservation system offers you a car rental in Murcia or good deal hotel rooms as well, or if you fly from Alicante its system offers you parking at Alicante airport...

All these services, surely commissioned, keeps increasing their benefits.
Aircraft fuel savings.
The company gives strict orders so that their aircrafts travel always with the minimum allowable legal fuel.

Not only that, but also it is rumored that that the airline makes lists of "recommended" pilots according to the average fuel of fuel spend on its flights. This generates a great tension between the pilots of the company besides of provokes the desire for competition at the expense of possible security infractions between the pilots.
The fact is that these impositions, when loading fuel in the aircrafts, keeps causing continuous aircraft incidents of the airline company seeking a forced landing at any airport on their way to its destination.
There is a suspicion that these landings are requested due to a lack of fuel to reach their destinations or to hold the aircrafts in the airspace due to air traffic incidents.
Savings on staff.
In a letter that Sepla Union presented in 2009, were already warning about alleged irregularities regarding flight staff. Most pilots and cabin crew are self-employed persons and contribute in Ireland despite the fact that most of them have their residence here in Spain.

This way the company saves a lot of money in social security, income tax, low staff and possible indemnities.

Savings in marketing.
This airline company doesn´t need to spend many Euros to generate advertising campaigns.

The continuing occurrences of the company to achieve lower costs are continuing news items on the main European TV news stations.
Proposals such as make obese people pay for two tickets, or travel stand on flights of short duration in order to increase the number of passengers, charge you for going to the toilet, travel without a co-pilot...are continuing news items in all medias that undoubtedly is intended to advertise its brand name for free, with no charge.

Savings at the expense of charging the unchargeable.
As we all know when flying with Ryanair we have to be carefully with the weight of our luggage. Any stated weight excess can incur to an over expenditure of 40€. And of course, when you are about to check in we do not arise about if it is or not a scam and we just pay for it.

The same happens with the print out of the boarding pass. If you are traveling with Ryanair you have to print out your boarding pass at home because other wise you will have to pay an extra charge for it.

The company claims all these charges as a result of their need to reduce their own costs, aircraft space, remove the out printing of boarding passes and reducing wait time to check-in and this way in necessary staff, etc...

Do you think it´s worth to travel low cost without really knowing at the expense of what for?

The importance of having a profile in Google +

It´s becoming more common that companies create and configure a public profile in Google +, but what advantages can it provide when making such profile?

Google is creating its own social network Google+, attempting this way to compete directly with Facebook or Twitter and overtake them.It currently has around 250 million users and expect a significant growth through 2012.

Besides, this network counts with the possibility to create the known company sites, aimed to obtain a greater benefit of the same.

If we decide to create a company site in Google + our first step will be creating a user profile. Currently, any company page on Google + has a profile of these features.

What can you do with a profile in Google+?
The same as in all other social networks, the main objective within Google is the share.

Sharing experiences, thinkings, pictures, work... and to be able to share it is necessary to relate with the rest of the network.

Google + provides different tools to achieve this:

  • Circles, allows the users to categorize the rest of the users with whom they establish a contact relationship within the network. They are equivalent to Facebook friend groups or Twitters lists.
  • Hangouts, places to facilitate video-chats with members of our circles.

How to create a company profile in Google +?
First step to do, as mentioned before, is to create a users profile.

Once created the profile and and logged within the Google network you should direct to the following site https://plus.google.com/u/0/pages/create#pages/create.

You have to follow the established steps and fill in all the requested information about the company.

Many are the companies who already have joined this network, such as car rental in Alicante companies, or service  of car parking at Madrid Airport or important hotels in Barcelona and other destinations, and most important Airline companies in Europe...

What advantages brings a company page in Google +?
In addition to all the advantages that a users profile provide in Google +, it main advantage is that it incorporates automatically into the company within Google´s search network.

They say that Google prioritizes in it search for the natural positioning the +1 for who has a company page in Google + and besides of indexing automatically all the publications that are made about the company profile in their network search.

Not only that, but also a profile of these features can be completely integrated with the rest of other tools that Google has for the company. A clear example like the integration of Google Maps and Google Local within the company profile, where all the information about a certain company that until now was only available in Google Maps is now also available in the profile of Google +.

Some basic tips before catching a plane from Barajas

Are you one of those persons who gets nervous when having to catch a plane? here are some tips that will make it easier for you.

Many people don´t like travelling by plane. Some of them because they feel panic to fly, others just because of the fact of breaking their daily monotony. Either way, here are some tips that will relax you when having to catch a plane at Barajas airport.

Basic tips before catching a plane
Think about the time you will need to get to the airport, most airports are on the outskirts of the cities, Barajas for example is just 14km away from Madrid city. Airline companies always recommends to be at the airport at least 2 hours before departure. It´s advisable to add to this also the time you need to arrive to the airport.
Deciding how to go to the airport is one the thing that makes us really nervous. Loaded with luggage and having to take the metro, train or bus for example is not very advisable for our nerves. The best option is hiring a airport car parking at Madrid airport and leave our vehicle parked at the airport. Same way, when we come back from our trip we will have our vehicle at the airport parking waiting for us and ready to drive directly to our house.

Once you arrive at the airport inform yourself when you have to embark, by going directly to the correspondent airlines check-in desk where they will inform you at what time your flight embarks and which gate you will need to go too.

Go to the pre-boarding area at the predicted time. Remember that you will have to pass through the metal detector. Don´t get nervous when it starts beeping, mainly it is just due to the belt buckle or because of some trim on your shoes.

Relax yourself in the "Free Shop" area, enjoy the stores while waiting to embark, but do not forget the number of your boarding gate that must take because Barajas Airport is a hub airport and it might happen that your favourite store and your boarding gate are quiet away from each other.

Go to the boarding gate when it is the time, also, speakers and TV screens will always let you know when to embark. Don´t worry, normally there cannot go anything wrong by taking a boarding gate because there are always some airline staff that will check that our boarding pass corresponds to the wright boarding gate.

Relax and enjoy your flight, it might be that they bring you to the plane by bus, but only if it is too far away. When you enter into the plane go to the seat that suits you and stop worrying, it is done now. Just enjoy from your trip through the sky.

How to get from Heathrow airport to London city

Are you going to the Olympics in London? are you traveling by plane?

If you are one of those lucky ones that will travel to London by plane to see some of the events of the Olympics 2012, have you thought about how to get from the airport to the center of the city?

Travelling to Heathrow airport

Which ever airport you depart from, the most comfortable way to go to the airport is driving to there with your own car. If Aena parking is to expensive for you, you can hire a car parking at Madrid airport, Barcelona airport,...it will be more cheaper and your vehicle, in some cases, will be parked even in better conditions.

Ones resolved the issue of how to get to the airport, the only thing that rests is taking your plane that brings you to Heathrow Airport.

Heathrow, one of the busiest air traffic airports in the world
Heathrow airport is one of the airports with most air traffic. On of the most important airports with great capacity with an estimation of 90 million people a year that passes through its facilities.

With such dimensions that we are talking about, it is not surprising that we concern about how to go from the airport to London city.
Getting from Heathrow to London
It is normal to find several different kind of public and private means of transport at an airport of these features, to get us from the airport to the center of the city.

Heathrow connect, is a train service that connects the airport with Paddington, it takes about 30 minutes approximately to get there, but it has train stands at all important stations during the trip, which can be an inconvenient if you are in a hurry. Its cost is not very economical, approximately 16.5 pounds.
The subway is the most economical means of transport that there is that can bring you to the center of London, but it is not the fastest one. It takes about 45 minutes to get there and it costs about 5 pounds. There is no service during the early morning hours.
Another option is taking the bus, it tends to be more expensive than the subway and it takes longer as well, due to this, the majority of tourists discards to use it.
Taking a taxi is one of the most comfortable options, but it also consumes your time, approximately one hour. Besides it´s one of the most expensive ones, only a one way rit can cost us easily between 50 to 60 pounds.

Hiring a car at Heathrow airport, hiring a car rental service at the airports of London. Like the rest of European airports, booking a rental car is the most convenient and comfortable option and might be also the most economic one. You can hire it directly at the same airport, for example at El Altet airport there are several car rental counters where you can hire a rental car at Alicante airport, same way as in Madrid, Barcelona and many other international airports. Alternatively you can book in advance from any existing online booking system.
Besides of going from Heathrow to London, with a rental car we also can visit other interesting destinations near London.

Public transport or parking at the airport

Your are going to catch a plane and you don´t know what kind of transport to use to get to the airport? what is better? use public transport or use your own car and parking it at the airport?
Many times when we travel we have to catch a plane and get to the airport. For many of us it is just for pleasure, for others because we have to go out on a short business trip or because we have to go for a long period to work abroad.

If it is not to far away and the plane ticket compensates, or we are in a short time and have to assist to a very important business meeting, we will surely take a plane. Similarly if we are taking a plane for a longer distance, we will have to get to the airport and possibly we will be loaded with a lot of luggage.

What alternatives are there to get to the airport? We might doubt of how to get there. We will have three alternatives.

The first and the most practical one is to ask a friend to bring and take us to the aiport. This alternative s not always the most indicated, because beside that we pay the fuel twice, we will also have a commitment with him/her or in some cases pay him/her as well. Not only that, but depending of our departure/arrival time we might have to ask someone for a big favour.

The second alternative is to take a taxi or public transport, one for when we depart and one for when we arrive.

The third one would be driving with our own vehicle to the airport and parking it there until our return, pick it up and go back home.

It seems like that the second option is the best one, but is it really? If we live in Benidorm for example and our flight departs from Valencia, taking a taxi from and too Valencia would cost us about 324€. Taking into consideration that we are maximum with 3 people.

On the other hand if we decide to take pulic transport, we will have to leave home much earlier. We have to take into consideration that there are not always direct buses from and to the airport. This means that beside of taking the bus we will also have to take a taxi, al local town bus or the subway to get to the airport. I we assume that we are with three people the price can rise up to 140€ if we go off from Benidorm to Valencia.

Than the most advisable thing to do is go with our own car?
Yes, there are several advantages by using our own vehicle. The first one is that you do not depend of any public transport time schedule and that you can leave home whenever you decide.
You load up your luggage, drive carefully to the airport having a rest whenever you want. Contract a service of parking at Valencia airport is the best solution.

This looks fine for me, but, where can I park my car once I get there?
A low cost parking company is the prefect solution. Once you arrive to the parking facilities, the staff of the company will tell you where you can park your car. Your car will be guarded 24 hours a day with video cameras and by cualified personnel. Beside this, they also will take us to the airport and will be waiting for us on our return.

At the same time, because it is a low cost parking it is much cheaper than parking your vehicle in the same airport parking area. For example, hiring a service of car parking in Alicante Airport may cost you aproximatly 25 euros a week. By the other hand, hiring for the same period a service of parking in valencia Airport may cost you 28€ aproximatly.

If we add on top of this rate the fuel expenses we will notice that we are saving quiet a lot of money, beside og gaining time and travelling more comfortable.

And you? what kind of transport do you prefer when you go on travel and have to go to the airport to catch your plane?

From 2015 all sold cars in Europe will have the e-call.

The new regulation of the EU establishes that from the year 2015 all cars that are sold in Europe will have tp have incorporated the e-call system. The objective mainly is to increase traffic safty and reduce the time it takes for the emergency services in come to rescue where there has been an accident.

But, what is e-call?
The e-call system is a system that works through a telephone card which will be incorporated in our vehicle. In case of accident, when the vehicles airbags go off, automatically there will be send a signal to the emergency services. This will in connection with the police, fire brigade and ambulance.

What advatages does it has?
These calls will function through GPS system, which in case it activates, the receptor centre will know at all times our position. We will not have to make any call and have to try to explain to the operator where exacly we are.

Let us imagine that we are a tourist who has contract a service of car hire in Murcia and has an accident. Due that we are not in are own country we do not know how to contact with the emergency services neither know how to explain where exacly we are. The e-call system will do it all for you.

One of it main advantages that it has is that in the event of a serious accident, where the occupants can not call or move, the system would do it for us.

When will cars have this installed?
There are currently several manufactures that already have them installed in some of its car models. Given that from the year 2015 it will be mandatory for all sold cars in Europe, we will see more oftenly cars having this installed before 2015. Many manufactures will use it to make sure it works properly or as a business strategy.

And you? Are you agree with the implantation of this sytem in your vehicle?

How to enjoy Easter in the Comunidad Valenciana and Murcia.

Easter is aproaching and the spanish beaches will become fill of tourists again, as well as the streets fill of visitors who will assist to the famous processions.

In a few days we will be celebrating Easter. As it´s known, here in Spain its celebrations is very spectacular during these days. Due to the multitude of processions held in the Peninsula there are a multitude of toursts visiting our country.

Which is the preferred destination to spend the holidays?
Due that the major type of religion in all Western European countries is cristian-catholic, there are several national holidays at the same time. Both companies and schools are closed.

Due to its favoured climate and its warm temperatures compared with the rest of the countries, Spain is one of the top destination for tourists during these days. As every year, there will be a great flood of people coming from all over Europe and from midland towards the different coastal areas.

A high number of visitors will choose to come to the Comunidad Valenciana and Murcia, so it is to be expected a large number of visitors who will be looking for a car hire Valencia and Murcia airport, or for an apartment to rent in Alicante. The forecasts ary very positive, that´s why we all recommend to book in advance for these days because we all expect to be 100% booked out.

Why do tourists prefer coastal areas?
Given that these are the first days of the year were we have a nice sunshine and pleasant temperatures, many tourists prefer to come to spend a few days on the beach, making profit of the warm sun rays, getting brown and among the brave ones even dare to take a swim in the sea.

But of course it is not all about sun and beaches. At the same time Spain is known internationally for its processions.

What are the processions?
The processions are parades across the streets, where they walk about with religious images carried on the shoulders of the so-called "costaleros". Each one of them, group of image and "costalero", are known as "paso".

People devoted to this have been training for a long time because they have to carry on their shoulders among the streets the image of Jesus Christ or the Virgin, in a very well organized slow march, with counted steps and a well established itinary. For many it is a truly honor to be able to bear its weight.

I´m off to the Comunidad Valenciana, which are the best known processions?
If our destiny is Alicante, the best known one is the Santa Cruz procession, a brotherhood that already exists 67 years. The route is one of the hardest because they depart from the Santa Cruz Hermitage, located at the base of the Castle in the old town of the city and cover virtually all Alicante´s main avenues. It is celebrated on Holy Wednesday.

The brotherhood "Santísimo Cristo de la Buena Muerte and Nuestra Señora de las Angustias" are responsible for the Silence Procession, which is held on Holy Thursday. This processions is one the most impressive ones for the majority of visitors.

If we are thinking in visiting the province of Valencia, we can go to the Alzira´s procession, which is one of the most visited of the Comunidad Valenciana. Among the most important ones is the "Domingo de Ramos", the "Silencio" one and the "Procesion General del Santo Entierro".

The Comunidad of Murcia has always been very religious and the Holy Week has a very special meaning for them. A variety of processions are held among all the province.

Due that it is very good connected thanks to its airport and because of its wide range of tourist services such as car hire Murcia, and its hughes variety acommodation in hotels and in apartments makes Murcia being one the favourite places to visit during this time of the year.

The processions of Cartagena have been declared of National Tourist Interest and stand out for their spectacular "pasos", the many flowers they are wearing... They are organized by the four main brotherhoods of the city (Marraja, del Cristo del Socorro, Californina and the Resucitado).

The processions of Jumilla date back to the 15th century and its "pasos" images have been made by very well-known sculptors. The most impressive one, without any doubt, is the Holy Wednesday one at the Plaza de Arriba, represented by the townpeople and declared of National Tourist Interest.

At the same time we can see processions in other cities in the area, though they are not as well known, they do attract each year more visitors. Towns as Callosa del Segura, Crevillente, Elche, Gandia, Lorca, Murcia, Orihuela, offers its visitors a wide range of choice throughout the community.

And you? Do you know any procession that we haven´t mentioned?

A shortage of rental cars in Easter Week is expected

A shortage of rental cars for the Easter holidays is expected again as a consequence of important companies's closedown of the sector because of the crisis.

Days pass fast, and by leaps and bounds approach one more year the first holidays of this year 2012, the Easter Halidays Week, beginning this year on Thursday the 5th of April. Because this is a very short vacation, a lot of visitors, most of them foreign people, prefer to come by plane or train and once arrived in destination, would like to rent a car.

Up to date we could see really low prices for car hire. As a tradition, many of the foreign customers have reserved their cars with a few months in advance, in order to be sure that will have a confirmed reservation and at the same time to get the best prices available. For example until only 2 weeks ago we could book a car hire at Alicante airport for less than 100 euros per week.

However, as dates are closer to the Easter Week prices begin to increase. For example now we can hire a car in Murcia from 130 euros and everything points that prices will increase as Easter holidays aproches.
But why do the prices increase?
As we already know the big majority of car hire companies renew the cars of the fleet constantly and as soon as the low season arrives they sell most of the vehicles, keeping the right number of cars for the winter season.
This year the economic situation is very dificult and finding finansation it is now a real challange for most of the companies. Beeing in this situation the companies can not renovate their fleet of vehicles. This way the big majority of car hire companies will have to resign with buying a lot less vehicles that the normally acquire buy this time.

As well is very important to point that important companies of the sector have suspended its activity as a consequence of the financial crisis in which Spain is immersed.

Conclusively, there are less car hire companies and the ones that support the pressure will a minor availability of cars for hire. This situation involves a shortage of fleet in curcial seasons like Easter Week and summer, besides a predictable rise of prices by this time.

How does this affects the travelers?
When the number of vehicles is very low, the companies have no other choice but to increase prices and many times the ones that makes last minute reservations will have to pay very high prices. This is all the way round than in a normal situation, when the last minute bookings haves special discounts.

The ones that have decided to rent their car until today, can say that they have paid a really low price for the Easter holidays. The ones that want to rent a car, it will be advisable to make theis booking now, and so will be sure they will pay a moderate price and at the same time being sure that they will have a car hire for those dates.

What about you? Are you going to risk and not hire a car until the last moment?

The Fallas, also known as the "Fiestas Josefinas" are held in honor of Saint Joseph, the patron saint of the carpenters. These festivities were born as a result of burning old stuff as a way of celebrating the end of the winter season and entrance of the spring season. In Valencia, the fallera capital, they last for about 1 month and they are a genuine show of color, smell of gunpowder and noise by the millions of firecrackers which are explode at all hours.

This year, despite of a budget reduction, the celebrations haven´t lowered down their level and do keep attrackting tourist from all over the world. There will be held variuos activities and music bands to entertain all visitors along the city.

Of course during these days we also will be enojying of the typical Fallera music. The more than 300 bands will start touring around the streets every morning at 8 o´clock waking up everyone, forming a true spectacle all over the city.

All the Fallas are part of a competition. On the 18th of March is when a specially elected jury will decide which Falla is the best of all. Not only the Fallas will get rewarded, there will also be a reward for the best Ninot of the normal Fallas and for the infants one, which saves itself to be burned on the 19th.

During the las three days of this festivity, are taking place the Flowers offering to the Virgin. Thousands of Faller@s from all the districts give honor to The Virgin with a bouquet of flowers, and bunch to bunch they make an intense colourful mantle at the monument.

The last day of the Fallas is when they celebrate the well known Nit del Foc. Its when they celebrate the greatest pyrotechnical spectacle of Valencia. This year they expect over than 600.000 visitors to join this event. Just when finishing is when they burn all the statues, a whole year work. Many of its visitors cannot hold back their tears.

This is the moment when they start again working for the Fallas of the next year.

All the information about the Fallas for its visitors can be found at http://www.fallasfromvalencia.com/

Which is the best way to go to the Fallas?
To come and visit Valencia during these days, if you travell by plane to the capital of the Comunidad Valenciana, the best thing to do is hiring a service of car hire in Valencia to be able to move around comfortably to all the strategic points of the city during these days.

If you prefer to spend a journey through the different towns where they celebrate this festivity, its advisable to travel by plane up to Alicante Airport and hire a service of car hire in Alicante. Hiriko, Spanish electric car which will conquer Europe.

Hiriko, the Spanish 100% electric car, has great potential for conquering Europe.

The past 24th of January 2011 was the official presenting day of Hirico. José Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission, has given the approval to this Spanish project.

But, what is Hiriko?
The project was born beginning 2010 together with the MIT collaboration (Massachussets Institute of Technology), but is completely developed in Spain, Vitoria city, that in addition has been elected as the Green capital.

It´s about a car that is 100% electric and electronic.
Features:
  • It is a very small citycar
  • It will be catalogued as a Cyclops, so it will not be necessary to have a driver´s license, except a valid autocycle license according to each country.
  • It will reach a maximum speed of 80km/hour on main roads and 50km/hour in the city.
  • A car that once it is parked it will reduce almost in half its size.
  • The car will cost 12.500 Euros.

What benefits will this vehicle have?

Primary it is an electric vehicle, which means that it does not emit any CO2. As we know, many big cities are prohibiting the entry to its centre to vehicles that emit CO2, problem that Hirico won´t have.

Given that the vehicle will know at all times exacly where it is, it will apply the limiting road speed according the road where is driving on. It will reach 50km/hour in just 3 seconds and it has a range of 120 km with only a 30 minutes charge.

Where and when will we see it?

It´s planned that Hiriko will come on the market by 2013, main customers will be the public administrations. Due that it won´t have limited access to certain areas and neither pay toll to enter certain areas, like London for example, it will wake up a great interest in companies who are operating in these cities. This will improve employees mobility in case they need it.

It is likely that soon car rental companies will also take advantage of this technology. VictoriaCars is considiring the possibility to add some of these models in their car fleet for car hire Alicante and this way study the viability of this technology in the car rental sector. We will notice it by it car fleet and probably it will be advertised as rental per hour, like the company Autolib does in Paris.

Tips for parking your car at Valencia airport.

How to solve the problem about where to park your car if you are planning to travel by plane from Valencia airport.

Valencia airport, not so long ago, has carried out a major renovation and expansion of its facilities. Nowadays it is becoming a very important airport, increasing its air traffic for both national and international public.

Going on holiday by plane, for a weekend or simply go out on a business trip, the easiest and most practical way to get to the airport is by taking your own car. This ensures you to get on time to check in and also you don´t depend of the public transport and its timetable.

But first and foremost, there always comes up to your mind where to leave your car during our time out.
What options do we have about parking the car at Valencia airport?
First option is parking your car in the neighbourhood of the airport. In this case you can park in any of the industrial zones that are near to the airport. You have to be aware that there is no public transport to go from there to the airport, but you can take a taxi or go walking.

What disadvantages does it has?
Having your car parked on the street in an area with much traffic activity, you never know what might happen. It might happen that they rob your car, damage it or scratch, etc. On the other hand, taking a taxi to the airport and back to your car on your way back might cost you even more than parking your car in a private parking area.

And the option about returning by foot to your car from the airport we can discard it directly, because everyone of us who travells always take with them some luggage that might weight considerably.

So....shall I park my car than at the airport parking?
Another option is parking your car directly at the parking of the airport.

One of the things to keep in mind of parking there is that our car will also be parked in a free access area. We must be aware that these parking areas are very busy areas, cars are parking there constantly, driving in and out all day, with the risk that they possibly scratch or even damage our car.

Also, you have to be aware that the price for parking there is quiet expensive. In many cases the parking at the airport of Valencia might cost you even more than what your flight ticket costs.

Regarding these options the best way to get to the airport is not driving your car, right?
No, there is a third option which is hiring a parking place through a private company near the airport.

Generally these companies offer parking in Valencia airport at a very affordable price and with delivery/collection service to the airport, which usually free of charge.

You also have to bear in mind that yo be able to leav your car parked with one of these companies, you previously must have received a confirmed your reservation. On the same confirmation voucher there will be indicated where too you have to go with your vehicle and also detailed instructions of it.

Once you get there, an employee of the company will guide you to the place where you will have to park your car and afterwards with one of the companys courtesy vehicles he will take you to the airport departure terminal.

By giving them our arrival flight number, the company will also be waiting for us at the arrival terminal with its courtesy vehicle and take us back to our car, it doesn´t matter with how many peoply we arrive and luggage bags that we have with us,

In case you want them to give your car a more special treatment, you have the possibility to hire several extras for a minimal cost, such as hiring an indoor parking place, full cleaning, etc.

And you, have you ever tried a parking place with one of these features?

As every year the January sales have begun.

As every year, the past 2nd of January began the January Sales, starting this year with very aggressive discounts due to the crisis.
On January the 2nd they´ve started with the famous winter sales. As usual the autonomous region of Madrid and Murcia were the first who began with there winter sales, followed by one week later the rest of the autonomous regions.

What is the sales origin?
The sales history goes back to early 1930 when a very important department store businessman from New York decided to offer big discounts to reduce all the stock that he had from all of its fashion shops. This sector doesn´t allow to have much stock in their stores due to the constant change of their collections, which made this method to spread out quickly throughout the rest of the world. Nowadays it has become almost a compulsory practice taking place twice a year, one in the winter and one in the summer.

The main aim is to sell all there stock collection from the past season at lower prices, this way the want to give rise to the entry of their new collection.

In Spain, the January Sales were initiated as a result of a "rival war" for getting new customers between El Corte Inglés and its than competitor Galerias Preciados, stores that were scattered throughout all spanish cities. Obviously, the fact that these two major stores also made profit of this new tendence forced the little and medium merchants to join this trend as a necessitty.

Nowadays sales have extended over to almost all kind of sectors, you can find sales in fashion stores, real estate, business service and even in supermarkets.

How long last the January Sales?
In most autonomous regions, the winter sales start on the 7th of January and ends on the 7th of March, except in Murcia and Madrid where they began on the 2nd of January and will finish on the 1st of March and on the 31st of March respectively.

What do they offer during major sales?
The range of sales is very broad and can vary from each store. As general rule, all stores offer between 20% and 80% discount on top of the initial price. In addition, as a reult of the crisis, having important discounts is just not enough, that´s why in some cases promotions are launched even more aggressively. For example, the Desigual shop in Madrid made lately a special promotion that all female customers who entered to the store with its underwear could take there selected clothes with them for free.

If I´m going to Madrid, where about can I go to sales?
If you decide to go to the sales in Madrid, there are several places where you can go to. Among the most prominent ones we can find them at the Gran Via and Preciados street, as well as at the Arenal street. Here about we can find almost everything.

By the other hand, if our tastes are a little bit more refined and our pockets are better filled, we can find the best and most exclusive shops in Serrano street, Velazquez and surroundings.

We cannot leave aside the big shopping centres. Among the most famous ones you have Factory with shopping centres in San Sebastian de los Reyes, Getafe and in Las Rozas.

Where to go on sales in Barcelona?
On the other hand, if our destination is Barcelona, we also can find there a variety of stores with all kind of offers and discounts at this time of the year.

Among the most popular areas for going on shopping is at the centre of the city.

In addition we can also go to the Gothic area, to the Portal del Angel area, Aviñon street, Daigonal avenue, Paseo de la Gracia... If you are visiting the city, the most advisable thing to do is hiring a car rental in Barcelona, this way you can drive easily to all these areas.

Besides of all the shops that we can find among the streets, like any other big city, we can find many shopping centres. Among the best knowns are those of Illa Diagonal, Lamaquinista and Glorias´s.

Which are your favourite places to go shopping? or, which ones you don´t recommend us to go too?
